Local Motive: Looking closely at regional/neighbourhood needs
Jennifer Ouaknine was born and raised in Toronto. She studied labor relations and Economics at York University and has worked in a fast paced retail banking environment. Passionate about helping clients, Jennifer became a certified Financial Planner. With something still missing from her career path, Jennifer decided to pursue her love of community paired with her connection to her Jewish Identity and joined UJA’s Top Gifts department in 2013. Jennifer went on to work with stock donations and then continued to grow at UJA and joined the Annual Campaign team. Jennifer is grateful to work with such an amazing group of colleagues and lay leadership, and ensures that her donor base are well taken care of and feel appreciated.
Galit Keren was born and raised in Rishon Lezion, Israel, has also lived in Montreal, and since 2002 has made her home in Toronto. She has been with UJA Federation for almost 14 years, working mostly within UJA’s Annual Campaign fundraising stream. She has also been involved in UJA Federation’s Capital Campaign where she served as Marketing and Development Officer. Today Galit leads UJA’s Annual Campaign Top Gifts division and works closely with the Campaign Chairs and other outstanding volunteers to raise over $31 million from 180 top donor families. Galit also holds UJA’s Corporate Partners portfolio, serving as the key contact for UJA’s largest corporate sponsors.
Ethel Weiner is the Executive Director, Under 40 Initiative at UJA Federation of Greater Toronto. Prior to her recent move back to Toronto, Ethel worked at UJA Federation of New York for the last 5 years. Her roles there included Campaign Director of Emerging Leaders and Philanthropists and Senior Development Executive, among others. Ethel has a MA and BA from Tufts University.
Susan Jackson is one of Canada’s most experienced outreach and community development professionals. She is currently the Executive Director of Women’s Philanthropy for UJA Federation. Susan is responsible for fundraising, outreach, education and leadership for Women's and other parts of the annual campaign, specifically working with the women in our community. Susan has been at UJA Federation for 34 years in several capacities.
